World Alpine Ski Championships Day 14 - 2015 |
February 14th 2015 |
Today was the day of the Slalom race. Alain checking my boots before the Slalom race. I made it to the 6th gate and that's about all I can say about it! The course was not nearly as difficult as the slalom at Sochi (where I managed to finish the 1st run well) so I don't really know what went wrong except, in my defence, the course crew seemed to stop paying much attention to repairing the course after about 50 or 60 racers (I was bib 80). After the race ended we had to go to an athete signing session - our team together with some of the Hungarian team and Sarah Schlepper (the well-known former US racer who now competes for Mexico) were met with people queued down the length of the road! It was surreal and we had to sign pennants, hats, gloves, phone cases etc etc for more than an hour! Signing autographs! |
