New Zealand National Championships, Coronet Peak 2012
August 31st 2012

DAY 1 GS

I was very pleased with my result  in what was one of the strongest fields of racers that I have ever competed against. It included some World Cup racers from Austria and Switzerland with real pedigree and form; World Cup racers who consistently qualify for the second run and place in the results.

Again, starting from the back, it was a bumpy ride but a score of 119 in this company shows how much my GS has improved down here in New Zealand over the last couple of months.

It was a long walk uphill to get to the start of the GS!

DAY 2 SL

Once more, I had to fight the ruts on my way down the course after starting towards the end of a very strong and experienced field.  I was reasonably pleased with my runs and I know that, at the beginning of 2012, I wasn't skiing anything like as well or as fast as I am now.

Tomorrow, and the next day I will be travelling to Cardrona and Treble Cone or another GS and another SL race.
