Training with the Benni Raich Academy comes with certain privileges - one of those is that trainees are automatically assumed to be his "fans" and, as such, entitled to enter the fan area and the Austrian team hotel at the first World Cup race of the season which is always in Solden (just the other side of the mountain from here). Benni skied fantastically well and, from being 4th after the first run, he managed to hold on to that position and finish 4th in the end, just missing out on a place on the podium by 0.01 of a second! The locals weren't too disappointed as the race was won by Marcel Hirscher.
