| Lillehammer Youth Olympic Games |

Congratulations to Gary Skinner who has been chosen to represent Ireland at the 2nd ever Youth Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer this month.  I was the first girl (the first of either gender, actually) to compete for Ireland at the inaugural YOG in Innsbruck in 2012 and I remember very clearly how proud I was and how proud my parents were - it was a huge event and very inspiring. I wish Gary all the very best of luck and I hope that he enjoys the experience - he will be in good hands with Anne O'Connor as a very experienced chef de mission and with Alain Untergassmair who is a great coach. |
