Coronet Peak FIS GS Races
August 18th 2012

After a couple of days of rest and a few days of GS training on the injected hill at Treble Cone that we share with the Austrian National Team, I decided to join my sister for a weekend of racing in Queenstown.

The course was steep and very icy; definitely the iciest GS course I have ever raced on.  Inevitably, I slid and skidded around some of the gates and I would probably have done better wearing ice skates!  However, I was pleased with my results as I came into the race with 151 points and started at the back of a very strong field.  I was faster than a racer 5 years older than me with 51 GS points and another 4 years older than me with 80 GS points.

I'm definitely looking forward to a couple of lie-ins after two days of 4.30am starts!
