BASI Ski Instructor Course |
August 29th 2014 |
I have just spent the last 5 days in a fridge in Tamworth - otherwise known as the Snowdome! It was the UK's first ever indoor ski slope using artificial snow and it is only 11 miles from home; a pleasant journey that takes me through the countryside, past vineyards (yes, honestly). This is where my racing career began, 6 years ago, so it is quite apt that I did the course at the Snowdome. I passed level 1 of the BASI Ski Instructor courses so after 34 hours of "shadowing" a qualified ski instructor I, too, will be qualified to teach beginners how to ski! I don't intend to make a career out of being a ski instructor but I thought the course would give me an insight into the sport from a different perspective. It will also enable me to earn some pocket money instructing in the evenings/weekends when I am at home. I'm actually looking forward to it! |
