A Level Results Day!
August 13th 2015

I have got my results and I'm v pleased - 2 A* and 2 A - I'm going to The University of Birmingham to read Law and will, hopefully, be granted a Sports Scholarship.

I will be spending the rest of the day booking Freshers' Week events.  I am not sure if there is a ski team but I will obviously be joining if there is!

King Edward VI Handsworth School for Girls is celebrating another excellent set of A-Level results, with over 79% of grades awarded being A*-B. Over a quarter of the year group achieved all A* and A grades, and 15% of grades were at A*. Headmistress Elisabeth Wager said, “These fantastic results are a reflection of all the dedication and effort put in by the girls and their teachers, and the great support from parents. I am also very proud of those girls who have overcome personal difficulties to achieve grades which enable them to follow their aspirations.”

All three girls holding offers from Oxford and Cambridge gained places: Clemency Flitter (3A*s) and Sparshita Dey (4 A*s) will be going to Oxford and Viva Avasthi (2 A*s and two As) to Cambridge; congratulations also to Jardelle Johnson, who will be studying at Brown University in America, having gained a full scholarship and to Iman Ansar, who gained three A* grades. Jardelle becomes the first of our students to study at an Ivy League university. Another outstanding achievement is that of Olympic skier Florence Bell, who achieved two A*s and two As.

AS results were equally impressive, with 28 students achieving at least 4 grade As.
